Vision, mission, functions and responsibilities
1. Objectives of FTA
The primary objective of Fintech Academy (FTA) is to develop and supply a high-quality Fintech workforce, including professionals equipped with comprehensive knowledge, practical skills, and strong professional ethics, thereby meeting the growing demand for both the quantity and quality of human resources needed for Fintech development, entrepreneurship, and innovation in Vietnam today and in the future. Specifically, the Academy aims to:
- Increase both the quantity and quality of formally trained Fintech human resources, ensuring learners acquire in-depth knowledge and competencies in Fintech, with the ability to apply modern technologies to the modernization of financial services, thereby enhancing the efficiency and competitiveness of Vietnam’s financial–banking sector.
- Develop and strengthen a qualified faculty team capable of meeting the teaching and research needs in Fintech for Dai Nam University as well as for other educational institutions in Vietnam when required.
- Build and develop a team of Fintech management professionals, providing updated knowledge and skills for managers and leaders of technology companies, financial intermediaries, enterprises, and regulatory agencies responsible for Fintech and the national financial system.
- Promote financial and technological literacy for the community, contributing to enhancing public awareness and elevating the reputation and image of Dai Nam University.
2. Mission
FTA provides long-term formal education programs, short-term professional training, scientific research, and university – industry engagement in fields related to financial technology. These activities aim to meet human resource needs and support the sustainable development of new financial technologies within the business community. DNU-FTA develops and implements training and educational initiatives to facilitate advanced financial-technology applications.
3. Functions
With a central goal of developing high-quality human resources to meet the needs of Vietnam’s Fintech sector and financial system, Fintech Academy fulfills three key functions:
- Scientific research function: Conducting scientific research serves as the foundation for improving and updating educational programs, fostering critical thinking, innovation, and enhancing human-resource quality, while ensuring long-term momentum for Fintech development in Vietnam.
- Consulting and financial technology transfer function: Consulting services and technology transfer help strengthen the application and adoption of global Fintech innovations in Vietnam, ensuring that domestic Fintech development remains connected with international advancements.
4. Responsibilities
Corresponding to the above functions, Fintech Academy is responsible for:
- Organizing admissions and delivering long-term formal academic programs, including bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Financial Technology, to provide a workforce with solid knowledge, skills, and professional ethics, meeting the needs of Fintech development, entrepreneurship, and innovation in Vietnam.
- Implementing short-term training programs to upgrade and expand professional competencies, knowledge, and skills in Fintech, developing competent Fintech specialists who meet the requirements of financial institutions, technology companies, and enterprises.
- Conducting scientific research projects in Fintech and delivering research outcomes to partners upon request or as needed.
- Participating in research programs, statistical surveys, evaluations, and related activities, following the needs of enterprises and financial intermediaries involved in Fintech products and services.
- Organizing collaborative scientific research activities and financial-technology transfer, when authorized by Dai Nam University or under contractual agreements between the University and its partners.
- Hosting international and national scientific conferences, seminars, and academic forums on Finance and Fintech.
